Small Business Technology Transfer Phase 1 Contract
NICHOLASVILLE, KY (November 23, 2020) Aviation Safety Resources, Inc., (ASR) an innovative company that designs, tests and produces emergency recovery systems for the aviation and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) markets, announced today that the United States Air Force (USAF) has awarded the Company a Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase I contract inclusive in round 20D. Under the contract, ASR will team with NIAR located in Wichita, KS to support various testing requirements to support end users with a whole aircraft recovery parachute system.
Additionally, ASR was awarded a Phase 1 SBIR in December 2019 and with the first Air Force SBIR award, ASR has been developing innovative systems that offers critical lifesaving technology. The Air Force is a vital partner for bringing our technologies to specific platform applications under varying conditions and situations.
The innovative U.S. Air Force STTR / SBIR programs are designed to serve the technological needs of the Air Force and other commercial applications. These programs, together with the people who manage them, accomplish this as part of the Air Force’s technology development efforts to identify and provide advanced, affordable, and integrated technologies that keep our Air Force and aviation the best in the world. ASR intends to continue to find applications and platforms to use its lifesaving XRD, TriChute and Soteria brand of product line technology to fill this unmet need for civilian and military applications.
